Dr. Chelsea Anderson

We are very excited to welcome Dr. B’s classmate and friend relief veterinarian Dr. Chelsea Anderson to help us out while Dr. B is on her maternity leave! Dr. Anderson is a New England native, growing up on the Connecticut shoreline, although she now calls Montana home. After graduating from veterinary school at Cornell University, Dr. Anderson spent six years working in private practice in Connecticut and NYC. Before moving to Montana in early 2020, she planned a sabbatical to volunteer overseas. With a passion for how veterinary medicine and surgery differ across cultures and international borders, Dr. Anderson has spent time working with animals in Europe, Asia, Africa and the South Pacific, most recently in Vietnam. In the field, she has a special interest in internal medicine. Dr. Anderson now travels for relief work, which brings an excitement to the profession - getting to meet new people and practices is great! When not working, Dr. Anderson loves to hike, run, travel and read.

Melissa

Melissa, our practice manager, joined the veterinary medicine field three years ago after spending the better part of 20 years managing restaurants. A Boston area native, she is excited to join The Pet's Vet team and looks forward to being a part of our growing practice. Melissa loves to travel and enjoys great food and wine. In her spare time, she volunteers with several animal rescue organizations. Melissa lives in South Boston with her husband and their three dogs Bodie, Tokyo, and Annie.

Sam.jpg

Sam

Sam has spent over ten years in the veterinary field. She graduated from Mount Ida College with a bachelor’s in Veterinary Technology. Since then, she has primarily worked in biomedical research but loves to help out at veterinary general practices on the weekends. Sam is currently pursuing a master’s degree in animal science, and when she is not working or in school, she loves going on adventures with her two four-legged children, Otis and Wallace. Her other interests include visiting breweries and going to Bruins games with her husband Colin. Sam joins us as a veterinary technician to help out in her "free" time.

Mariela.jpg

Mariela

Being in love with animals her whole life, Mariela decided to venture into Boston, from her native Puerto Rico, to pursue graduate studies in veterinary medicine. After graduating from a bachelor's degree in Wildlife Management, and working for 2 years at several veterinary hospitals in Puerto Rico, Mariela decided to try her luck in the big city. For the past 3 years, she has been able to accrue significant experience in feline medicine and general practice - Mariela joins us as a veterinary technician. A fan of everything geek, science, and Star Wars, when she isn't cuddling on the couch with her Staffy, Taro, or with her nose buried behind her Nintendo Switch, she is in the kitchen with her partner frying some plantains.

Christiana.jpg

Christiana

Christiana is new to the veterinary world, joining us in a flex position of Client Care Specialist and Veterinary Assistant. She received her BFA in Illustration from Massachusetts College of Art in 2019. Her family has always had dogs, especially boxers. However, it wasn’t until she worked in a doggy daycare through school that she really gained a passion for working with animals. She lives with her cat, Walter, and loves to paint. We look forward to Christiana’s artistic addition to our team!

Sophia

Sophia recently graduated from Boston University where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Marine Science. She has always had a love for animals, especially upon adopting her childhood dogs, Abby and Olivia. Sophia's passion for medicine in school has led her to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. In Sophia's free time, she loves to go hiking, bake, and spend time near the ocean!

Kate

Kate is one of our veterinary technicians who joins us from the south shore. Her favorite color is orange and her favorite holiday is Halloween. Kate and her husband have 4 pets - their dog Luna, cat Holly Olive Princess Carol, and two rabbits named Potato and Reggie (as well as sharing custody of kitty named Noam with her in-laws). Kate has been working in the veterinary field for almost a decade and we are very grateful to have her. She loves all animals and wishes she could have more of her own!

Sue

Sue is a Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) who joins us in general practice after working in a specialty-emergency veterinary hospital. She is a graduate of Great Bay Community College with a degree in animal nursing. Sue has a special interest in surgery and anesthesia as well as misunderstood dog breeds!

Jael

Jael has been in the veterinary field for the past year. She grew up in Pennsylvania and Israel. Jael has always had a love for animals large and small, with a special interest in cats and feline behavior. She has been living in the Boston area since 2021 with her 2 cats Mjoll and Ichigo. A former theatre kid, Jael loves to sing in her spare time. She will always seize the opportunity for a game or paint night.
